THC Concentrates

The consumption of marijuana has changed over the last ten years. The popularity of THC concentrates has grown increasingly in the United States. THC is a type of resin that secreted from the cannabis plant. This resin is much more potent than its plant's counterpart. It can also be referred to as butane hash oil (BHO), dabs, or hash.

Although medical marijuana is gaining traction in Texas, the drug is still illegal for recreational purposes. This includes any THC concentrate, oil, or hash. A person convicted for possessing THC concentrates will face felony charges under Texas law. The penalties can include large fines and even incarceration.

If you or someone you know has been charged with possessing, manufacturing, or selling THC concentrates, it is in your best interest to obtain legal representation.

Penalties for marijuana possession have significantly decreased across the nation. However, for THC concentrates, this is not always the case. Texas law indicates that any kind of BHO or THC concentrate is not technically a part of the cannabis family. This classification means that the penalties for THC concentrates are much heavier.

Overview for THC Concentrates in Collin County, TX

What are THC Concentrates?

THC concentrates originate from the resin from cannabis flowers, also known as buds. Using a solvent extraction process, cannabis flowers create a thick, sticky, resinous substance made up of cannabinoids. These cannabinoids are chemicals that give the user a "high" feeling, such as THC and CBD. These two chemicals are cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

THC Concentrates are used to make an abundance of substances. Some of these include hash, oils, budder, shatter, and wax. Over the years, THC concentrates have popularity among marijuana users because they tend to give a much quicker and potent "high."

Common Examples of THC Concentrates

A factor that separates marijuana extracts from the actual plant itself is the many forms it can take. Here are the most common forms of THC concentrates:

  • Budder – This concentration has a consistency between wax and crumble. Budder is a kind of hash oil that sometimes has 70% or more THC;
  • Shatter – One of the purest forms of cannabis concentrate is shatter. It has a glass-like appearance that can be broken into pieces if dropped on a tough surface;
  • Oil – A concentrated form of THC that is extracted with C02, butane, or ethanol.
  • Crumble – This form has the driest consistency of all the concentrates. It’s usually broken into very small portions;
  • Wax – Usually handled with dabbing paraphernalia, wax is the stickiest form of THC concentrates;
